Lovely LEGO!

Ordinarily, we at Quadric wouldnt make a big noise about the letters of thankyou we receive, but the 2011

Quadric Xmas present caused quite a stir. In fact we almost enjoyed receiving your thankyou letters, as much as did giving the gift.

Here’s a selection of the things you all had to say about Lego Architecture.

Dear Ben

I have been meaning for ages to write to you and thank you for that wonderful lego puzzle of the Farnsworth House. I built it over the holidays and it was a good experience – in fact it was the most creative present I received! I like it so much I sent away for Frank Llyod Wrights Falling Water which was a bit more complex but equally enjoyable. Im going to try and collect the set now. Click the title of this article for more.

Kind regards

Ed

Epic Race

The upcoming challenge for Team Quadric is to conquer the Flight Centre Epic Mountain Bike Race. The award winning Flight Centre cycle Epic is a great mountain biking tradition that began in 2002 with a bunch of mates challenging themselves on a 117km epic trail ride…….

This years gruelling 75km course will ba a tough ask for the 4 (possibly 5) souls lucky enough to don the Team Quadric Jersey. The bookies are already tipping Burnsy to sit in Lee’s draft the whole race, and at the last minute come in first. Also look for a close tussle between Ben and Bluey further down the pack ( who both consider having kids is a perfectly valid excuse for not getting up to train on those cold mornings). The potential late contender for a start is Bryce, who may have agreed to enter during a state of artificial courage at the pub. Will this mystery rider leave us all for dead?

The Flight Centre Epic MTB Marathon has the disctinction of being the first marathon in the history of Australian Cycling. The 75km race starts on Old Hidden vale, following a demanding course made up of single track, farm and two small sections of sealed roads. The main event starts from Spicers Hidden Vale Retreat and heads west out of the property. Riders continue over Red Gap and into the Mulgowie Valley. Riders then north along Mulgowie Road before turning east and climbing the Little Liverpool range into Old Hidden Vale.

Quadric announces membership in the GBCA

This step is the continuation of our ethical and finanacial commitment to partnering with like minded parties with the view to further promote and develop our ideas.

We are constantly re-inventing the way in which we work at Quadric, and are always keen to view new research and methods. We now put the challenge to our clients, to make an example and get behind the Green Building Council of Australia by engaging a company who is a member on your new project, or by requesting your new project be an accredited Green Star Rated Project, or by becoming a member of this organization yourself.

Quadric has undertaken projects that have been guided by the Green Star Rating System principals, and places a high priority on being involved in Green Star Accredited projects in the future.

ISO14001 Environmental certification

The attainment of this certification shows our commitment to sustainable practices and puts in the top 00.2% environmentally minded companies in Australia. Currently there are less than 2000 of the 1.66 million companies in Australia with ISO 14001 (Reinhard Peglau, Federal Environmental Agency Germany: ASIC 2008).

To Celebrate we donated 25 endangered Wollemi Pine trees.  The WollemiTM Pine is one of the world’s oldest and rarest plants dating back to the time of the dinosaurs. With less than 100 adult trees known to exist in the wild, the WollemiTM Pine is now the focus of extensive research to safeguard its survival. By our donation Quadric is assisting in its conservation and become part of one of the most dramatic comebacks in natural history.

We are constantly re-inventing the way we work at Quadric, and look forward to your continued support as our valued client, so that we may continue our efforts.

Australian Government Building and Construction OHS Accreditation Scheme

The FSC works with industry and government stakeholders towards acheiving the highest possible occupational health and safety standards on Australian building and construction projects.

Following the Cole Commission, this body charged with admistering a scheme raise the safety record of the construction industry.

Quadric fully supports the work of the commissioner, and in applying for accrediation has agreed to spent considerable time and effort in demonstrating our compliance with ‘best practice’ OHS standards.  Our achievement in gaining this accrediation not only allows us to perform projects over $3 million directly funded by federal government, but also gives comfort to state, local, and private clients that they are dealing with a contractor proven to be at the forefront of OHS, through truly independent audits.
