Calling Apprentices for Remote Trail Build
Calling enthusiastic people to commence apprenticeships and be part of a in a once-in-a-lifetime project creating a multi-day hiking track on Whitsunday Island.
The Project
The Ngaro track will be a new premium hiking experience constructed by Quadric in the Whitsundays—offering 32kms of breathtaking Whitsunday views and incredible trackside diversity. The spectacular multi-day walk balances challenge and reward and has been designed to offer a range of hiking opportunities. It provides a rare opportunity for a multi-day hike in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area, and takes in the area’s most iconic destinations—connecting Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet along the island’s coast and interior. From start to finish, walkers can reflect on their island journey from spectacular trackside vantage points.
The Role
The role is open to anyone currently an apprentice or wishing to take on an apprenticeship in the areas of Builder, Carpenter, or Civil Constructor. The successful candidates require no previous experience, but must be physically fit and willing to work in varying weather conditions. The candidate should be from the Airlie Beach area or be willing to travel. The site is a 10min heli-lift from the mainland and on site camping will be a regular occurrence. The Apprentice will work alongside experienced trail builders and learn on the job, gaining valuable experience across a range of aspects including civil construction, sustainable trail building, cyclone zone carpentry, and vegetation management.
Whitsunday Islands National Park is the traditional land and sea Country of the Ngaro People.
The development of this new low impact walking track acknowledges the enduring connection and responsibility to Land, Sea and Sky Country as an integral element of the Ngaro peoples’ identity and culture. We welcome candidates from the Ngaro People and other Indigenous Australians to apply.

The Return of Market Confidence
As Australia watches Covid19 numbers stabilise a low levels and we see a return to schools and workplaces for many industries, we have seen a confidence return to the market.
Clients are now pushing forward with projects that were in ‘holding patterns’ only a couple of weeks ago. Commercial Landlords are investing in lobby, amenity, and end of trip facility upgrades. Workspace tenants are forging ahead with fitouts that were planned pre-covid albeit with necessary changes for the new socially distanced workplace. Education refurbishments are at what only could be described as record levels of project work. Public spaces such as shopping centres, stadiums, casinos, and even airports are approaching Quadric to perform the work necessary to make their spaces workable upon their immanent return to trade.
It is this kind of sentiment that the property industry and the wider economy needs in order to bounce back and we hope to see it continue for the rest of the year and onto a big 2021.

Unveiling Quadric HQ
The next, and much anticipated, step in Quadric’s evolution is the unveiling of the new Quadric HQ. Located in an iconic building at the junction of the CBD, Fortitude Valley and Spring Hill, and once a council bus control station, the two storey building was converted into an office space in 2012. Last month, Quadric gave the building a complete overhaul. Opening up the internal space to allow innovative and collaborative work zones and capitalise on the buildings expansive views of the city; no doubt a feature intended from its original use.
The decision to establish Quadric HQ is a key part of our ongoing strategy and is an important move in ensuring that Quadric’s accessibility to clients remains paramount in our service delivery mantra. This junction between the CBD, the Valley and Spring Hill puts us in close proximity to the market we serve.
Our Satellite offices in Sydney, Darwin, and Melbourne remain important outposts for our product reach and delivery.
We encourage you to swing by and take a look.
Stay tuned for the grand opening party!

Annual Review 2014, and where to next?
Our projects are bigger, the programs are tighter, we work in more locations, our delivery is more reliable, and now more than ever we can feel confident in saying that we have right mix of people to be relied upon to get the job done right. Yes we are growing, but organically; in size and complexity, but also in confidence.
We’re a builder, we’re a trade contractor, we’re product distributors, we’re a construction manager, we maintain facilities, we’re problem solvers. We genuinely enjoy what we do, and are excited to see what the next years will bring.
