Quadric’s wide project reach is exemplified by our current works under construction.

With over 25 individual projects in progress across Australia, Quadric go where we are needed by our loyal client base.

Physical boundaries such as the Torres or Bass Straits are no barrier to us.

Our northern most project is a heritage refurbishment of Customs House on Thursday Island off the top of the Queensland mainland.

Our southern most project is an Optima partitions installation for the new Parliament Square building in Hobart, Tasmania.

The logistical challenges faced in delivering materials and labour in offshore locations are great, combining transport by road, rail, sea, and air. The two projects, although almost 5000kms apart and quite different in scope, are managed by Quadric in the same pragmatic fashion. Quadric invests in local content where possible, and retains critical levels of project management ensuring the job is completed to Quadric’s high standard.

Our team genuinely enjoy a challenge and working from strait to strait definitely fits that bill.

Norton Rose Fulbright is a leading global legal practice.  In collaboration with Carr Design Group, Quadric delivered Optima glazed partitions and doors in a range of bespoke and innovative designs.  Curved, switchable, and double glazed elements merged ensuring access to the expansive view and natural light is provided to those spending regular period of time at their desks.

Specialist anodised finishes and custom aluminium lined door panels featured to client levels and curved shapes have enhanced the feeling of movement throughout the workplace, removing the severe 90-degree corners that complemented the façade’s distinct architecture.  This project is a testament to way that Optima can be used in flexible ways to push the boundaries of design, whilst retaining acoustic integrity.

Gold Coast Institute of TAFE
Southport Campus Redevelopment

The $7millon state-of-the-art redevelopment of the Gold Coast Institute of TAFE Southport Campus, was undertaken by Quadric over a 6 month period in the latter part of 2014.  The project provides infrastructure for the accommodation of a new student hub boosting an industrial design and promoting an educational environment.

The fitout delivers an abundance of building design elements bringing structure, joinery and finishes together. A benchmark for innovative design which enhances collaboration between students through peer-study zones and adaptable technology.  An innovation in construction is not a straightforward concept as it entails improvement in not only the processes, but also the products, materials and services the industry offers. The challenge is to identify potential opportunities to innovate.

Queensland Police Headquarters Refurbishment

The G20 Summit held in Brisbane in 2014, was the largest ever peacetime police operation in Australia.   In preparation for the event, Quadric was appointed as Principal Contractor to refurbish the Queensland Police Headquarters – Police Operations Centre and Joint Intelligence Group facility.  The new spaces acted as control centres providing a central point of co-ordination for the approximate 6,000 police in the operation.

Delivery of the project involved a deep commitment to fixed deadlines, a sensitive understanding of various secure information, a willingness to work around the needs of the operating police station, and an applied comprehension of communications services.  The largest obstacle and biggest key to the project success was the integration of services from several different information systems into the built environment.

Quadric would like to thank the entire project control group for their efforts and patience, through what was an understandably challenging, but ultimately rewarding project.
