Wacol Secure Duplex Update

Quadric has broken ground our latest project in the prison precinct.

This $6.5M secure duplex is a stand-alone facility.

With bulk excavation, in ground services rough-in, and building slab preparations complete, we are on track for completion in mid 2023.

Whilst Quadric traditionally focuses on fitout and complex base building refurbishment, we do on occasion conduct ground-up and greenfield projects where the key project drivers fit with Quadric’s profile. In this case, our previous experience in the prison precinct and the secure nature of the works gave us a keen interest targeting the job.

Our project team are enjoying a change of scene from the inside of high rise towers Brisbane to the red soil of Wacol.

Work in Progress Q4 2022

Quarter 4 of 2022 was buoyant with customers moving forward on projects in a wide range of sectors of the economy. The ability to take on projects for these clients has been restricted somewhat by the ability of subcontractors to keep up with demand. The material shortages experienced since covid are easing somewhat, but lack of labour availability, particularly in manufacturing for the construction industry, has become the major factor in determining project programs. Quadric’s in-house capability to produce joinery has been seen by clients and other builders as a large competitive advantage and we continue to expand our capacity in this area.

Project Award: Great Southern Bank Brisbane Hub

Quadric has been awarded the design and fit-out contract for Great Southern Bank’s new Brisbane offices at 300 George Street.Great Southern Bank is Australia’s largest customer-owned bank, looking after the financial needs of more than 380,000 Australians. They have recently changed their name from CUA to Great Southern Bank but remain customer-owned and firmly focused on helping all Australians own their own homes.At Quadric, our employees, contractors and suppliers are all thought of as family. Great Southern Bank has been helping Australians into their own homes for 75 years; Quadric has been welcoming our clients into their new workspaces for over 40 years. Sounds like we were made for each other!

The project stretches over 6000m2 of floor space in a new PCA A Grade office building, including:

A modern workplace that fosters collaboration and supports hybrid working and agility
Efficient use of space matched to actual utilisation and demand
‘Desk sharing’ within a neighbourhood design approach
Construction detailing and selections with Environmental Sustainable Design principles, maintenance and durability aspects

Works Well Underway COHORT Expansion Space

The exciting new expansion space for CO-HORT is coming along nicely. The 400m2 open roof space is being converted into enclosed offices with a 2 storey atrium to keep up with the high demand for space in the existing Co-Hort space. Quadric built this 2500m2 space in 2019 as part of the conversion of the Commonwealth Games Athlete’s Village into Parklands Precinct.

Breaking Ground – USQ Engineering Building

Building on our expertise in tertiary education, Quadric has been engaged by University of Southern Queensland to construct the Engineering Building at their Springfield Campus in the heart of this continually expanding city.

The existing single-storey building of 375m2 will be expanded to a double-storey building of 1850m2 with an entry atrium and will house Engineering Laboratories including Robotics, Civil, Physics, Surveying, Materials Testing, Electronics, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines.

With breaking ground due to commence next week, we look forward to working again with USQ, Savills Project Management, DWP, Northrop, and DMA Engineers.
